Why do they all look white in the poster?

That just struck me yesterday.

Also, why do they have a red-headed character with braids or pigtails in a prominent spot on the lower left side? Which just so happens to look like how Meg was described in the book?

Did they start to backpedal, realising oops, they made a mistake taking this movie so far away from the book, which so many people love?

So the Chinese audience will see it.

reply

[nods] Of course. Why didn't I think of that?

reply

Meg had red hair in the book? For some reason, I always thought she had brown hair and Calvin had red hair. It has been a long time since I read it though, so I'm probably mistaken.

reply

[nods] Meg was a red-head. Don't remember the description of Calvin, but Charles Wallace was, as I recall, a blonde.

reply

Wrong! Meg had "mouse brown" hair and Calvin had the red hair as did Meg's mother ;)

reply

You're right on both counts, although Calvin's hair was described as orange. Charles Wallace was a blond.

reply

You were right about Meg having brown hair. Calvin's described as having orange hair, so yes, basically red.

reply

They don't look all white to me. And I hope you've now noticed that the red-head in the lower corner is Mrs. Whatsit, who is a major character in the story.

reply

It's the lighting used when editing the poster. Over half the cast was either black or from a non-white race).
