I hope someone visits this thread in 2090, it will be an amazing laugh they'll have I'm sure. Sincerely hilarious how some have forgotten the theme of the film they just watched.
Won't begin to speculate who remains a legend at that point because it's too hard for any of us to tell who will leave an impact so far from now. BUT there are certain things that remain true about all people who have significant cultural and historical impact on the art world.
1. Polymaths are nearly always remembered, people that reach far beyond into different fields and create by pulling from different mediums / backgrounds.
2. Also typically remembered are those who "did it all themselves." Filmmakers, musicians or large scale artists that played every instrument on their album, or helm'd all the major roles in creating a movie (like Woody Allen). That kind of thing.
3. And of course those who defined a certain movement. Banksy being a good example of someone popularizing street art, he's now a household name tied to a certain form of art that's pretty much exclusive to this century.
Information being readily available this day in age will make it so that more artists have significance in future generations. Great people's contributions will be hard to forget when it's all immortalized on the internet.
The "hub of talent" that a few in thread have mentioned (Paris in the 20's) won't be in any specific city but will be formed from certain collectives that evolve on the internet. Not as cool as Paris but meh, what are you going do?
