Maggie ruins movies

Some people put out positive energy, some people negative. This woman puts out ugly vibes. From her face to her attitude, in every character she plays, it's pure ugliness oozing from her being. I empathize with anyone forced to work along side her, and have a hard time deciding to watch or continue watching a movie she's in.

On the other hand, Jake is awesome.

I agree. As much as her character was meant to (in your own words actually) put out ugly vibes as a result of the intrusion to their tight-knit band, I just have a terrible time focusing when she's on-screen. Every movie I've ever seen her in I just instantly have a perception change about the movie solely due to the fact that she looks/feels/speaks like a being that just ruins anything she touches.

Obviously actors have conflicting schedules and such, but a few names came to mind that gave me that, "UGH, she would've done great in Maggie's place!"

1) Lizzy Caplan
2) Aubrey Plaza
3) Gwenyth Paltrow (pending she can channel her inner 'Royal Tenenbaums' days)
4) Zooey Deschanel (yes, I said it. I would have rather watched Zooey Deschanel play Clara just so that Maggie Gyllenhall wasn't in the role)

I can't comment on Maggie Gyllenhaal generally as I don't watch a lot of the films in which she features, but ... I loved her as Clara.

Couldn't stand her in Dark Knight but didn't mind her in Frank.

reply

It was pretty funny when she said "I wanna punch you in the face"

reply

She looks like she's from Whoville

Have you seen Secretary or Sherrybaby? While they won't put a smile on your face, because of the subject matter, you might change your mind on her abilities. Even Crazy Heart, I thought she was stellar and I didn't really like the movie.

reply

Absolutely horrid in every one.

reply

Maybe its time for you to come out of the closet then?

reply

Huh?

I just stumbled across this movie on Netflix. I've got to say that Maggie was the only thing I really liked about it. Her character was supposed to put out negative vibes, she's insane. I thought she was played perfectly.
