London
Did anyone else think it was quite random? Out of nowhere London just gets destroyed completely. But it was surprising, definitely a oh *beep* moment there.

shareIt had to be one of the powers in the room, so they were as good as any.
To be honest, if I want to take over the world by using my city destroying orbital weapon to prove I have the will and resources to do it , it would be either Iceland (since its absence won't affect much of anything outside of Iceland and I can probably get nearly all of them to scare the piss out of people) or Mexico City due to the inherent corruption, it's proximity to the US, and large population since one of my first measures is population control anyway. There would be a negative economic effect, but not the same as blasting any of the primary Western or Eastern Powers (one of them ends up as target Number 2 if the world doesn't cave immidiately). And you do want to prove a point.
Hey, I'm an amateur writer and had to give some thought into what the bad guy with the orbital weapon was going to destroy. ^_^
This movie was generally just mindless fun, I didn't dislike it, it was ok ("Transfomers" were way worst), but totally destroying one of the biggest capitals in the world (I mean, the whole city was literally vanished), and then ending the movie with a happy end like nothing happened, is beyond ridiculous. It destroyed the whole movie. I've seen cities being destroyed and then the movie ends like "oh well, life goes on" ("Man of Steel", "The Avengers", etc.), but at least it takes half an hour for the city to be destroyed. In this movie, boom, London is gone in 10 seconds, and a few minutes later, the movie ends with a happy end, glorifying the American spirit! Rubbish.
shareParis was attacked in the first movie so it's London now.

Random and ridiculous what caused it.
