I never saw Hiroshima either, but I'm pretty sure it was bad. Does one have to see something with their own eyes to KNOW that it's a travety?

reply

Yes, you have to see the film before you can accurately judge it.

reply

How do I know there's a brain there if I have never seen it?

reply

Because wymen.

reply

very good for her

reply

Well, she is also a producer, so it is more like she is paying herself. At any rate, she is being way overpaid, particularly when the movie only has a $45 million dollar budget. She isn't nearly the draw she used to be and a younger, more age appropriate girl should have played this role.

reply

Similar to Adam Sandler movies.

They'll cost 80 million or more to make but look like a TV movie from the 2000s because most of the money goes to Sandler and his friends.

reply

I am aware of these Sandler movies, and while none of them will win an academy award, they are at least good for a chuckle or two. Outside of "Hunger Games" and maybe "Silver Linings Playbook" Jlaw hasn't been in anything remotely watchable. What she is now probably most famous for is those pics with man goo all over her face. She had her moment in the sun, and now that moment is over. She can take a seat next to Phoebe Cates, Denise Richards, Bella Hadid, Heather Graham etc, as just a woman that was famous for being pretty.

To be perfectly honest, Jlaw isn't even at the same level as the aforementioned women. I can't explain why she is so famous.

I don't recall Phoebe Cates being in anything of substance beyond the original Gremlins. Yes, Fast Times had a very significant impact on the 1980s generation, but in hindsight it wasn't as amazing as it was made out to be. These days it's most notable for spawning a lot of great actors/actresses. However, I don't think that many people that were born after the early 1990s generation are even aware of it.

Denise Richards is mostly famous for her marriage to Charlie Sheen. However, she did have Starship Troopers and Wild Things. Starship Troopers has gone on to be (and I hate the term) a Cult Classic. I don't think anyone really remembers Wild Things. I think that a big deal was made out of it due to the three-way sex scene. That was done during a time period when things like that (outside of porn) hadn't been done much before.

Bella Hadid... I had no idea who she was. I had to look her up.

Heather Graham had Boogie Nights and an Austin Powers movie, but she wasn't the main attraction in either of them. As stunning as she was in those roles she could have been replaced by any other pretty face and neither of the movies would have made a lesser profit.

I guess the point I am trying to make is that JLaw for a brief moment may have been bigger than the other three actresses that you named. She had 4 Hunger Games movies and 4 X-Men films too. Those films made billions, but as you said nowadays, she's mostly famous for being completely covered in man goo.

I still can't fathom how anyone is defending her being in this junk, but her defenders are all over this board.

reply

I saw it today. She did a good job and the film is enjoyable and funny.

reply

Well done.
