Kind of got that vibe but I feel like they diluted this a bit to not draw too much suspicion by having the mother (president) be ignorant to the degenerate cokehead son's illegal dealings within her holding company to further solely his personal benefit. They also mention him soliciting in prostitution and having a "nanny" of sorts to keep him out of jail. Real life politics aside I thought the worst aspect of the movie was making the president a little too honorable and innocent than rather have her just as corrupt as her son, as we know the corruption runs rampant no matter what party you're in.

Let's say both recent presidents have good role model kids. But the dead husband of the president in this movie had no similarities with Biden.

This was more of a comparison to the wife, who was elected president.

I was thinking more Hillary, though Chelsea is no "Hunter." She does run her part of the criminal enterprise smoothly.

I took Mme President's sudden conversion as phony. She knew what her son was doing. But I was surprised at her genuine grief at Derek's death.

BTW kudos to the actor who played Derek. He had me cringing every time I saw him.
