Oh goodie, more female rape

I'm beyond done with books and movies and TV shows including rape as if it's just the normal thing to do to women which is so sad and not entertainment. Men and children also get raped, but it's hardly ever shown or completely skipped over (except OZ and a few other producers who dared to go there with real life)

I guess rape is okay as entertainment and a turn on when it's women--and doing actual reality of it happening to men would be too uncomfortable to watch. Rape of anyone doesn't need to happen in movies or tv or books...it really is sad.

I wanted to watch this for Daniel, but no

They blew a man's head off and your whining about the rape? Get your priorities in order you sexist piece of trash.

You are way too easily offended and triggered by life, I guess. You need to check yourself into a mental institute, crawl under the covers and stay in bed because obviously life and the reality of the world is just too hard for you to wrap your head around.

Why is everyone so offended by everything now-a-days?!

How about "Oh goodie, more males all being psychopaths and druggies?".

If only feminists could open up both eyes and not just one.

How the F-CK does this movie (or other movies) portray rape as if it's a normal thing to do???
Did you not realize that there was a police investigation and the whole town was after Ig cause they thought he did it?
What do you mean, "for entertainment"? In most movies, people die. So all these movies show death as entertainment and everybody who watches them are sick for doing so??
Do you imagine men watching this in the cinema cheering when she is raped and murdered?

So, should they have had a rape of a child in this movie too, just because it happens in real life? Why not show a plane crash and a suicide bombing too while we're at it? Just so you feel better.

Or, if that is all too much for you, should movies only show people dancing around and singing happily? Why did you even watch this movie in the first place? It's labeled as "Thriller", is it not?

Are there only trolls on these boards nowadays? Or are people really that delusional, that they see things that aren't there?

Srsly, please stop watching movies for good. Thank you.

Good film by the way!

The murder is fine with you, but the rape is JUST GOING TOO FAR!! There are literally 1000's of movies, and TV shows, that depict things far worse than rape - why is it that you pseudo-feminists never complain about that? Oh that's right, because it mostly happens to men.

Do everyone a favor and just shut the hell up already.

reply

Yeah, this was really supposed to entertain you with that rape scene. The rapist was clearly not the bad guy, and the rape was taken very lightly by the town.

You f_ckin dumbass.

As well as other reasons, child rape isn't shown, male or female, because it would require either a minor to play the part of the victim, which is rightly not going to happen, or an adult to pretend to be a child. Even then they are almost certainly likely to be too young to take on such a role. So if it has happened to a character it is rightly simply referred to.

Where I would agree is that the depiction of male rape is not rare on TV or film simply because in real life it happens considerably less frequently than female rape. Nor is the depiction of rape and violence against woman shown to reflect the reality of life. It is entertainment.

I don't think rape or violence against women shouldn't be depicted but it is very commonplace.
