Does anyone know what sort of haircut he had in the latter half of the movie? I really want a haircut like that (I'm not gay incase anyone is wondering). I know it's something like size 2 short back and sides but when I say that to my barber it does not look as good as won bin's haircut in the link below (see last image):
You can ask for either a "fade", which is possible if you already have rather long hair and would like to keep it long on top, but very short/shaved on the sides and back.
Or you can ask for a "high-and-tight" which is the ubiquitous military style haircut that all marines have (short on top, but even shorter -- shaved to the skin -- on the sides).
From watching the trailer again, I'm pretty sure its a #2 (1/4") on the side and back, while leaving most of top uncut (minus the wig in the beginning). The fade isn't perfect since his hair is still much longer on the top while sides are cut kind of rough or rushed.
I'm no stylist, but have been cutting my own hair (korean, not gay) not that it matters :) I typically leave 1"+ on top, and use a #1 (1/8") on sides and blend in with a comb, which is still hard to get perfect in the back with 2 mirrors.
Going back to the movie, I'm sure the character wasn't too concerned with blending everything perfectly given his situation.
Just checking in to inform you guys that getting a haircut is definately not gay. And in case you all wondered, I'm not gay. And my sister is not gay. My mom is probably not gay. My neighbor might be gay, but I seriouly never talk to that guy. I have some gay friends, and they all have hair. Except one guy, he is bald. And gay.
Using hairproducts however is super duper gay and you should contact your nearest priest if you ever touch some.
Okay, so... I think that Won Bin's haircut was pretty awesome. The long hair worked for him, but most people are like, "you gotta cut your hair" and so on (in life I mean). He cut it as a sign of moving on from the state he was in. Be careful when you go and ask for a fade in real life, though. Not every hairstyle works on every guy. It depends on things like your fringe and the shape of your face, etc. Won Bin's haircut looks awesome, but it probably wouldn't work for me. I'd take the recommendation of a good stylist and start small. Don't cut off your long hair if you're not sure that's what you want. The right haircut for you is awesome. Just be sure that's what you're getting. Otherwise, someone will call you out on it right quick.
Yeah true. It only works on some guys. Since Won Bin is a model he can pretty much pull anything off! I tried his haircut once but it didn't work out. I now have the sides/back slightly shorter (size 3) than the top, but that's just me.
One look of his which I did copy was his slightly thick framed matt black glasses which he wore at an awards ceremony.
Can't believe it has been 1 year and 5 months since the first post. Time sure flies!
Recently saw the film and I liked his hair both long and short. I think the short style is just a normal short back and sides with it slightly long at the top. I'm not sure about the long style but then again I doubt there are many who can pull that off. It may also affect depth perception so probably not a good idea if you're a surgeon or something.
