No movie can be 'Dune' without H.R. Giger designs

Only Ridley Scott could have pulled the film off.

This Denis Villeneuve's version is an amateur kiddish fairy tale. He seems to have hardly understood the true essence of concept of 'Dune' which is quite dark, off-worldly & gothic.

Utter failure and lame.

There is no way Ridley could’ve pulled this off. 30 years ago maybe

reply

Ridley Scott has been phoning it in for years.

Ridley Scott's Dune would've been visually outstanding but the story would've been boring and convoluted.

reply

Ridley Scott is old and out of touch.

The man is in his mid-80s but one can hope for one more fine picture.
Anyway, what a terrific career, huh...Love that dude, he earned it.

reply

Wow, I didn't realize that he was that old, but he's 86. I hope I'm half as active as him at that age.

reply

Me too!

reply

The '84 film did just fine without either Geiger or Ridley Scott.

Yes

The original cut would be garbage, but the DC, released for the 15th Anniversary had been a blast.
