Did Alpha kipnap them 1 by 1?
doesnt seem like all of them have any business being outside the kingdom.
sharedoesnt seem like all of them have any business being outside the kingdom.
shareMost of them were abducted at the fair when they went somewhere on their own. Like when Henry went down to look at the pipe.
sharemaybe she was playing the "Debbie" part and the looked helpless and they thought they were helping "Debbie" out
shareSounds reasonable. I was pissed when she lured Ezekial because I know in the comics this is where he died. Then breathed a sigh of relief when he turned up alive. You know that one was done on purpose.
shareI figure they're up to their old tricks of mainly wanting to shock and/or surprise us.
They thought we figured Henry was safe because he had adopted Carl's storyline..Tara was safe because they'd killed Jesus and she'd be running Hilltop and Enid because she'd out survived Carl, grown up to carry peoples memory and was learning to actually be a productive member of their society..
It's difficult to really care who lives and dies anymore.
That's how I feel - none of the deaths touch me anymore.
I couldn't care less when Carl died - if anything, it felt dragged out to me.
No, there had to be multiple infiltrators. The fair gave them an opportunity to just take off their masks and walk right in. Alpha was there for Lydia. She couldn't have ferried that many captives out on her own.
What do you do if someone comes up behind you, puts a knife to your side, and tells you to start walking? You could scream and they'll probably be dead, but so will you. So maybe you tell them the main gate is the only way out. They say they don't believe you, every community has emergency escape routes, if you lie to them again they'll stick you and leave you to bleed out. So you show them the back way. If they're trying to take you alive, it's probably for some sort of exchange right? Why would they bother kidnapping you just to kill you later? Maybe at some point they get complacent and give you an opening. Your odds are certainly better cooperating - for now.
That's how I think they got all those people outside.
Almost a dozen people unwillingly being escorted out quietly at knife point by complete strangers to everyone in a very dangerous society where everyone is constantly on guard and NOBODY noticing is not even plausible. This show is borderline laughable at this point.
shareWe know that Henry was all alone checking out a leaky pipe. Maybe they lured Enid over with someone who supposedly needed her help, etc. You don't approach them in the middle of a crowd. Most of the ones they took were teenagers. It's surprising that Tara got caught, but we never did see exactly what happened. I'm only speculating here. Ulysses S. and the Union Army wasn't supposed to be part of the lineup at all. They just showed up unexpectedly.
I've never read the comic; supposedly this same incident happened there too, with different victims. Maybe there's more information about how they got snared.
This episode once again showed the flaws in this show, like, they knew the Whisperers are out there, so nobody on guard or patrolling again? People you don't know can just wander in?
shareI think its too late when the king realised what happened, the highway men prob inform them around the time after Alpha confronted Lydia. All the while they had thought the whisperers were far away closer to hilltop which is why they send out their best fighters.
shareBecause they were having the fair, there were a lot of people coming in they didn't know.
shareThere are people at every community - especially Alexandria, Alpha was smart to say that's where she came from - who aren't known to anyone from the others. Ezekiel wasn't the least bit alarmed that he didn't recognize Debbie. For the last six years travel between settlements has been limited and mostly by a small group who conduct trade. There looks to have been something of a baby boom and certainly anyone with small children has an added incentive not to risk their lives "out there" if they don't have to. You can easily identify a Whisperer wearing their skin. But how do you tell them apart from regular people if they shed them, and clean up?
shareThey didn't show it because it would have been rediculous and impossible to pull off in a believable way.
shareI doubt it. I assumed there were a bunch of Whisperers in disguise at the fair.
