Henry

Damn who am I going to love to hate now. I hated that kid, but I miss him now. Haha

I understand in the comic that the relationship between Lydia and Carl (who Henry seemed to be replacing on the show) was an important part of the Whisperer storyline. Wonder what they'll do with Lydia now?

reply

Yea aI wonder that as well.

reply

I think it could be Daryl, except he adopts her as his daughter. Remember last episode I think it was Siddiq who told him he would be a good father. Plus she is experienced at living in the woods and also suffered abuse. When the war comes to the Hilltop, it could be Daryl who gets everybody out like Carl did in the comic version.

reply

I don't get how Lydia is not in total shock, and how could she stand to live there after being responsible for everyone's death and a coming war? Totally fake.

reply

Enid's boyfriend likes them young so job opportunity for him.

reply

seriously so much build up on his character then suddenly get axed.

reply

Thank the Gods!!! ROFLMAO.

reply

I'm not surprised Henry was killed off. I suspect some know-nothing producer thought Henry could be a "Carl clone", but it just didn't work out.

reply

I don't think they intended him as a clone of Carl. He was taking on those parts of his comic story that Judith couldn't. Henry's character was written with his adopted parents in mind. His kindness and moral compass came from Ezekiel. And he had that core of toughness like Carol, but not enough really bad ѕhit had happened to him yet to fully bring it out. He did some gutsy things. But he was still a few horrible traumas away from pouring gasoline on people in the middle of the night and lighting them up.

This latest episode just reinforces one of TWDs main lessons: if you're a kid, you're pretty much screwed. :)

reply

Henry was a total chowderhead, but he was OUR chowderhead.

reply

My opinion exactly.

reply

Yes he was.

reply

Damn right! We will avenge him!

reply

I really tried to miss him, but I just cannot ... he was a complete screw-up, and always did the wrong thing no matter how much parenting or attention he got from the most busy people in the place.

reply

In other words he was a teenager who acted like one.

reply

He was an idiot. But, he took Carl's story line with Lydia, so I was pretty shocked by his death.

reply

Yea I was sure he had Iron man type plot armor.

reply

It makes me sad for Carol and the King but Henry always made me homesick for Carl..

reply

I get that. Yea Carol has been through so much, but really what would you expect in a world like they live in.

reply

I might expect a few less raving psychopaths with minions.

reply

Haha yea they seem a dime a dozen.

reply

He was awesome. Gonna miss that guy :(

reply

You are joking right?

reply

No? I'm just not a bandwagon riding idiot who hates on whoever is currently cool to.

reply

So that makes you cool? Got it. Carry on nonconformist haha.

reply

Henry was always his own character. He was never meant to be a replacement for Carl. His death was a great bait and switch.

reply

Right. But from what I've heard, the relationship between Carl and Lydia in the comics is central to the Whisperer story. Lydia's character will have to follow a completely different arc now. That's why Henry's death was surprising. At least this early in the game.
