Why does this movie exist?

To make money off useless Barbie merch?
So we end up with a bunch of plastic crap with Barbie stamped on it, to FILL our LANDFILLS in 5 years?

Why is Barbie now a role model for young girls again?
Everyone hated Barbie for putting ridiculous impossible body shapes and figures and impossibly small waists into girl's minds thinking that's how they are SUPPOSED to look. And frankly , young girls don't even WANT to play with Barbies. They rather play the same things boys play with. When I was a kid, you know what girls played with ? THE SAME THINGS BOYS DID. GAMEBOYS. Video games. Games like Animal Crossing. Actual fun things. They don't want a shitty plastic doll with a dress and a 1 cm waist. But of course, adults who run studios and toy companies have no idea what kids actually want , or what they like.

girls went to see it because they all secretly want to be that and dressed up sexy to go see it. it was this ONE CHANCE to ignore all the modern feminist crap and be a WOMAN again, albeit briefly before getting back to whining about the patriarchy... that lets them exist.

guys went to see it because sex fantasies of barbie and Margot Robbie live. simple.
