Seriously this film tried and failed to recreate the original. The essence was totally lost.
For all it's flaws Zombie's remake had it's own identity and was actually provided an interesting take on Myer's background. This one just revisits the same stuff the first one did but it is not sure where to go and feels confused.

There is only one reason to claim that Rob Zombie makes a film better than a chimpanzee and that reason is to get people riled up and responding to the delight of the troll that started it.
... and I bit. Rob is trying to be some new era Waters type artist. Unlike Waters, Rob cannot convince enough people that pee smells good.
I enjoy Rob's version, too. Highly recommended: the first edit, before all the reshoots/changed scenes.
