How do they get around this fact? Or do they even try?

I don't know any 20+ year old who could lift a person up with one arm and hang them on a wall. After I saw that scene in the first film I determined Myers wasn't playing by the rules of reality, so why would his age matter?
He's about old enough to be considered a senior citizen.If they are removing the supernatural aspect of the character then he must have kept in damn good shape at that prison he was in.

shareIMDB says he was six when he killed his sister and the original movie takes place 15 years later. That would have made him 21-22. Nick Castle, who played Michael, was 30 at the time.

He was 21 in the original. How can this one take place 14 years after the original when Jamie Lee Curtis is reprising her role as Laurie Strode? She cannot pass as a 30 year old.
I'll watch it regardless. The original Halloween is my absolute favorite horror movie. It's the only movie that scared me as a kid.
I think he might have been to doing the talk-text for that post and it misunderstood 40 for 14.
EDIT: Actually I stand corrected after re-reading his post. Not sure how he was under the impression this takes place only 14 years later (unless he misheard 40 as 14 somewhere).
I was thinking the same thing. He (or she) misheard fourteen as opposed to forty. Just a guess.

sharei thought they did a good job. he is strong. sure there are times where he has psycho strength, but there are times where he doesn't appear as strong as a younger man.
shareDepends on what year this film takes place. He was born in 1957. He would be 61. There are plenty of 61 year old in great shape. Look at guys like Sylvester Stallone. He's 72 and still ripped.
