I loved it too but have questions.
1. Who is Linda Maddox. Not his mother.
2. And what’s the deal with not owning up to the pen.

Sorry to say. For you, that is. She leaves the series at the end of S2. Spoiler I guess. Her story - whatever it was - ended.

I think it leaves open the chance she comes back in season 3

They seemed to have wanted to end season 2 with closure for everyone just in case the series had to end here (ie if the show didn’t get renewed for a third season). Berne goes to Border Patrol, Chee gets Berne’s old job, Leaphorn and his wife ride on the motorbike happily off into the Arizona mountains . Every character’s fate is known and wrapped up in case the series never returned

Except for a few things, they mostly tied up the loose ends. I hope there is a S3.

S2. But who was Linda Maddox really. And why the thing with the pen?
