Did anyone actually expect this to be good?

Not true, 300, Watchmen and Dawn of the Dead are good films, and I would go so far as to say Watchmen is borderline, one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.
And his extended Superman and Justice League cuts were rather decent.
So yeah, I had high hopes for Rebel Moon, and was hoping it would be a return to form for Snyder, but alas, what we got was an unoriginal, poorly written steaming pile of woke shite.

I'm surprised some people still hype him and expect good things. Every his movie after Watchmen sucked. 300 and Danw of the dead were other good movies of his. Everything else is bad.

No, and I heard about this movie long before it came out. It sounded like another woke Star Wars ripoff, and I had no desire to watch another lame, poorly-written girl-boss beating up space Nazis with her diverse gay friends teaming up to destroy the cliched evil empire. That story's been done to death ever since the first Star Wars film in '77. It got kinda old 20 years ago.

Snyder does well if he's not writing the script.
