I was into this movie ... until Morgan Freeman's face popped up ...

then it just seemed fake and stupid.

reply

that's racist!

One of the rare times, at least that I have seen, where Freeman phoned it in.

reply

Morgan Freeman is overrated.

James Earl Jones is OG that gets looked over by everyone, including the Black Community. James actually has a God-like voice too. Morgan sounds like he's on the brink of passing out.

I kind of felt the same way, though I like him as an actor. I think it was because I had seen him in a number of non-sci-fi things around the same time and it felt like it was odd for him to be in a sci-fi.

He and Tom Cruise also had parts in War of the Worlds, though Freeman was just a voice.

reply

He is way over-exposed to the point that I am tired of his face, no matter how good an actor he is, or how great his voice may be, at this point he brings a self-consciousness to his roles that I usually cannot get past. Plus, his face at this point is so artificial it's like a comic book face. It just reminds me about all the annoying things about the moviemaking industry, which is not good for getting into a movie. He just definitely not work in this movie, but that whole part of the movie I remember as not being good. There were some interesting concepts and tricks and then ... time for Morgan Freeman's face to pop up. To me he is like Sean Connery was at the end of his career, or Michael Caine is now.

Maybe, the object of the movie is for the view to be able to inhabit the actors role, not the other way around, if that makes any sense.

I feel the same way about Samuel L Jackson. He seems to be in *everything*.

reply

Him too!

It's too bad that hate is clouding your judgment. But what can you do? Man's gotta hate what man's gotta hate.

reply

I guess it is acceptable for your right-wing dum-dums to make these accusations about things and never have to make any sense or tie anything to logic or facts ... it's sick.

I don't hate Morgan Freeman, and if you could read you might understand that it makes it difficult to enjoy a movie when they same faces show up that you see all over in every other movie.

reply

Maybe hate is too strong a word. Just using it in the context of language used on this site.

That's a mistake, you just promulgate assholism by right-wing Russian trolls.

"Hate" is not even in the ballpark.

reply

Yeah, don't you just hate those right-wing Russia supporters!
