I agree with the OP if we are talking about real life. In movies and TV, you see women in bras having sex all the time. But do you do this in real life? Probably not. If they want it to be believable, they have to copy real life.

All of the women in "Big Love" have sex with their bras on most of the time. It happens so often in the show that I thought at first that they were trying to imply the main character (Bill), who is a polygamist, must despise breasts and the only times women are topless in his presence, he doesn't look at them or touch them in any way. Even when his daughter is seen having sex with her boyfriend, she's wearing a bra, too.
I don't buy it that there is some kind of symbolism about a lack of intimacy or any other kind of hidden meaning that viewers are supposed to buy into. The real reason is plain and simple: someone involved in the production doesn't want the breasts to be shown. It could be for any number of reasons. Maybe the actress doesn't want to do it. Maybe the director doesn't want the dramatic/funny/romantic scene to be just another nude scene. This is also a chick flick.

Bridesmaids is not a 'chick flick'. It is a comedy with mostly female characters. It is aimed at everybody and obviously both genders enjoyed it.

I'm pretty sure that if Kristen filmed that scene topless, this topic would have been replaced with a topic titled "Kristen Wiig should get a boob job". In other words, "damned if you do, damned if you don't".And if you hear me tap on your window, you better get on your knees and pray, panic is on the way!
Pretty obvious that scene was contrived - I mean, you could actually SEE Annie contriving it. There's your explanation as to why she was having sex in a bra - she thought it made her boobs look better.
