He did something symbolic with the bras, and I find it hard to believe he'd think it was that big a deal. They were getting dressed in the scene for pete's sake.

keeping in mind that it's just a movie, my personal opinion is that the bra was kept on because Wiig didn't want to do the scene topless..... I think the revisionist explanation about the intimacy angle, while a nice try, is just a diversion of sorts..... while Feig might say they did it that way to signify intimacy, or lack thereof, you could also infer from those scenes that while she might have been self-conscious with Jon Hamm's character, it might have been because she really wanted a relationship with him (illustrated by her getting up early to fix herself and then "accidentally" staying over) and she just might not have cared what Rhodes thought of her..... people tend to be a lot less self-conscious when they don't give a crap what you think of them.....

And btw I don't remember there being any kind of rules about what you can or can't wear during sex. Are we really assuming that NO ONE on the face of the earth has sex in a bra or that it is somehow WRONG? Too much porn for you. Porn is NOT REAL. Repeat 50K times.

the way I look at it is that it's just part of the "alternative reality" we have in movies.... most women probably do not have sex with their bras on as a rule, but the alternate reality for movies when you're dealing with an actress that does not want to go the full monty, or if they just want to keep it PG-13, is that she'll keep her bra on and shoot the scene..... just as pretty much every movie and tv show up until the late 1960's showed married couples in twin beds and no bathroom ever had a toilet in it..... it's not what was the general rule in everyday life, but was the general rule when it came to movies/tv.... I consider the "sex in a bra" thing to be similar to that..... I notice it and kinda find it funny when I see it, but at the same time, it doesn't detract from the movie for me...... but that's just me....
