She says one of the reasons Indiana Jones can't stay in the past is because it'll alter the future. Too late for that since they left behind modern airplanes and guns while also changing the outcome of the Siege of Syracuse.

But shouldn't Indy already know its not possible? I thought the whole scene was just dumb.
