$300 million budget.

Filming began in June 2021, taking place in various locations including the United Kingdom, Italy and Morocco, and wrapped in February 2022. With an estimated production budget of nearly $300 million, it is the most expensive film in the Indiana Jones franchise, as well as one of the most expensive films ever made.

What doofus thought it would be a great idea to spend that much on this film? Playing with fire! I'm not Nostradamus but I get a feeling this is gonna be a major box office bomb. At this cost the film has to earn $700 million or more to enter the green and become profitable.

13th most expensive film ever, not adjusted for inflation. 22nd when adjusted.

Kathleen Kennedy has not been able to control any of the costs since taking over Lucasfilm. “Solo” actually lost money.

That's a huge problem with all the major studios these days. The budgets for these blockbusters is out of control. Look at Fast X, that cost $340M and the Flash movie is north of $200M.

Hehehe, KK is in so much trouble right now at Disney. She already went way over-budget with this film (evidently she's terrible with money when it comes to spending on movie projects), and Bob Iger warned her in a private meeting that this movie better break even, or else.

Based on that premise, he knows it will bomb terribly, and he'll probably use it as a way to get rid of KK because she caused so much money to be lost with her incompetence. I wonder if her contract states that she has to have the studio make money or be fired? That would be a good reason to get rid of her, considering nothing else has worked.

Why is that a problem? A production company paid a bunch of people as much as $300,000,000 to make something. That is lots of cash injected into the economy. They're going to spend a ton more to advertise it; even more money splashed around.
