5'0'' / 85lbs widow vs 4x200lb soldiers

Take gender out of it, Atomic Blonde is one of my favorite movies -- Charlize Theron is 5'10'

I don't care what martial arts you know, there is no way someone under 100 lbs is beating up 4 200lbs soldiers - let alone within 90 seconds. Why couldn't she just have shot them?

Then again, I suppose the red hulk is even less realistic. Nevermind.

Way over thinking a comic book super hero movie.

reply

Pretty much.

reply

I think you're being generous by saying she was 5'0!

I honestly questioned if she was a little person.

reply

I love my sister and she's very liberal and I said this as well and she said it could be done because she's a Widow. I don't even know what to say about this and she says we can't take it seriously because it's a superhero movie. Go figure. I honestly feel like these movies have no buildup or characters we care about like in the buildup to INFINITY WAR for the span of 10 Years and it's just being rushed out

We also have to remember that in the 1st AVENGERS movie, when we were introduced to BLACK WIDOW, she was tied to a chair and was called on a Mission and then singlehandedly beat 3 men including knocking one of them out with her hair:

I have a long time friend who will go and watch any movie with a hot chick and a sword who fights 20 guys at a time and it isn’t because of social justice.

reply

Eh, I grew up with Batman and Robin, with Robin being a 9-12 year old kid taking on adults much larger than him. Not to mention various other stories and franchises where tiny people are beating much bigger opponents, whether they have powers or not.

reply

Batman and Robin rely on technologies, even a 12 years old with a gun can beat a huge man.

I am not saying Robin used a gun, but I bet he had things better than one.

reply

A lot of the time, Batman and Robin just use their fists. There’s plenty of instances where Robin literally takes down guys by punching and kicking them, whether it’s hitting them in their vital spots or using flashy acrobatic moves.

reply

Is that cartoon or comic books?

reply

Both, though more often in comics.

reply

Then I don't know, maybe the readers were young, about Robin's age, otherwise I don't know how readers accepted that.

reply

Suspension of disbelief.

reply

If Atomic Blonde is one of your favourite movies, that's a sign that nobody should listen to your opinion. Come back in 10-15 years, when you've seen a couple more movies, then present your favourite movies again.

If you still fail, then we can't help you.

reply

So you are defending this and believe this scenario is plausible?

reply

Shira Haas at 5 feet 2 inches with arms thinner than a twig, beating up men weighing 4 to 5 times more than her is not plausible.

Neither is having Atomic Blonde as a favourite movie.

Both are absolutely preposterous, and I'm completely flabbergasted at the idea.

reply

I believe in grounding comicbook movies the best as possible, but the barely 5 foot tall Baby Widow I call her, tossing around men weighing probably close to 250LBS is just not plausible and reeks of the Disney Machine and their overpowered female kick

reply

Who is the tiny person being talked about here? My interest in this movie is about 2/10, so I'm not likely to see it unless it shows up streaming free somewhere down the line. For the "widows", I get them having some skills, but they shouldn't be battle tanks.

reply

The Israeli tart they have in this, Shira Haas. Never heard of her previously.
