Is this movie good? Or was it a 🦃?
Started a bit goofy. I'm about a 1/4 the way through and I'm hoping it gets better.

shareI thought it was ok. Most people seem like like it.
shareI liked it. Much like the green inferno, it delivered. I like eli roths style
shareIt was decent but somewhat disappointing.
As a comparison, I thought The Green Inferno was fairly enjoyable (despite also suffering from some unnecessary silliness). Yet that one got terrible reviews from critics, and has a poor rating on IMDb.
Thanksgiving, on the other hand, got surprisingly solid reviews from critics and casual viewers alike.
To me, they were about equal in quality. I gave both a 6/10.
Yea. It was OK. Nothing too spectacular but still worth a watch. As is most horror movies now-a-days, unfortunately.
share It was a pretty big disappointment to me.. I wanted a gritty slasher with cool characters and a nice whodunit angle - well I didn’t get any of that in this movie .
I remember within 20 minutes watching the tone felt corny and unserious and the longer it went the more disappointed I felt
Extremely disappointing. Compared to the trailer, it felt like Eli Roth really pulled back, maybe because he made it in 2023 when things are lame instead of 2007 when he could shoot scenes of cheerleaders being stabbed in the vagina and nude women being cooked and served like Thanksgiving turkeys and he wouldn't be afraid of being accused of misogyny or some other such thing.
The only scene that was genuinely interesting was the "dinner" scene near the end. Everything else is watered down, uninspired, nonsensical garbage. The film isn't terrible, it's just mediocre, which somehow makes it even worse. Very disappointing. Lots of potential wasted, particularly the trampoline scene which is way, WAY better in the trailer.
Should have been set in the 80s, and shouldn't have been so scared of being offensive.
It's been one year since this movie came out and love that we have a new Thanksgiving movie to watch every year. I'll be watch it in the next few days and it's slightly disappointing it couldn't be exactly like the Grindhouse trailer but I understand the story had to be a bit more modern. I wish the Trampoline kill could have been shot just like the Grindhouse trailer but it would probably have gotten the movie an NC-17. The ending dinner scene is as epic as ever. Bring on the sequel which I believe is still being planned for next year.
