2nd season
Anyone think Showtime will go for a second season of Dexter: New Blood ?
shareI hope not. It's so poorly written that it made me not want to rewatch anything Dexter ever again. Should have stopped after Trinity. Got so fed up with EP 9 that I deleted everything Dexter after watching it for 15 minutes or so (until Kurt showed up for Christmas). Is there anything worth watching out there anymore?
shareOh yeah. It's very popular. Lot of hype, talking all over social media.
The revival has the same problems of later seasons of Dexter. The drawn out single stories over 10 episodes that used to be one episode.
This is my beef with current season. I don't care anymore! Blah blah blah the Kurgan and wrestling and the angry kids. Jesus. We used to get cases. It was the cases of the weak, WITH the ongoing super serial killer, that made the whole thing work. Instead we get drama. And it's not good drama. It's just people talking.
The promoted Return to Form has not been delivered. It IS less shitty. But it's not more good.
Also, I've envisioned multiple possible outcomes for the characters and none of them please me.
I think so and I hope they do. I'm enjoying it.
shareI hope so. This season is turning out just fine. The ninth episode was everything that was good about the original good seasons of Dexter. There is a lot that can be done with the father/son thing. Definitely enough for another season or two.
shareI don't see how they can't! It's been non stop action and intrigue since ep 1. Definitely one of the best Dexter seasons ever.
The only problem is it's a Showtime "Special Event Series" which is them saying no more after this. So if they are true to their word both Dex and Harrison will need to meet a grisly end next episode.
