I think I would rank the movies as such

Pitch Black
Riddick
Chronicles

Even though Riddick is more or less a complete re-hash of Pitch Black, I enjoyed it more than Chronicles of Riddick, which seemed like "let's make this guy do as many cool things as possible"

Watched them each about 5 or more times, Riddick didn't feel like Pitch Black at all. Yes, similar concepts were used but the two movies put me into totally different atmospheres.

I really love Riddick (2013). I enjoy all the movies but this one is my favorite.

Pitch Black - 8/10
Riddick - 6/10

Pitch Black was OK at best.
the rest i skipped for obvious reasons.
