Best villain?

Been a fan since the start. Season 1-3 were the best in my opinion, but I have enjoyed it all.
One of the issues I do have with the show though is the consistency of a good bad guy. They seemed to either use them to set up another big bad, kill them off too quickly or have them redeem themselves.
So who do you guys think was/is the best villain of the show from the beginning?
I would have to go with Klaus, when he was first introduced followed closely by Mikael. He was ruthless, almost impossible to kill and unpredictable. Not to mention acted brilliantly by Morgan.
So who has been your favourite?

That's a tough question. I have a lot of favorite villians from the show. My #1 will always be Katherine. I love everything about her and she was so badass. I also love Silas. I love the way Paul Wesley portrayed him and I enjoyed his backstory. Also, of course, Kai is another favorite of mine.

I liked the villians from the early seasons so my favourites are always going to be Damon and Katherine. Joseph Morgan is a solid actor but I just don't find him intimidating at all, and I think a lot of the show's problem began with that decision to keep Klaus around after his expiration date. It got tedious, so I may be a projecting a bit there but still never found him intimidating. I did enjoy Elijah's brief appearance as a villian though. Everyone else was a major let down for me.

Its something you'll get used to a mental mind *beep* can be nice!

I have to say Kai, he killed his whole family and nothing beats that wedding horror.
I give Rick a 👍for his villain portrayal though, 👏

I think it's hilarious that the best villains come down to 3 characters whose names start with the letter K considering the numerous allegations that the show runners are racist.
