The embassy scene didnt make sense

It really didn't make sense that he would tell his daughter to crash the US Marines checkpoint. He knew they would open fire on the car possibly hitting his daughter,, and the car possibly kill or injure US personnel. What did he really have to gain from doing this? He lost the tail on him at the train track. Even if there was another guy gaining on him, if he just pulled up to the checkpoint and stopped, its not like 2-3 guys with pistols were going to open fire at the car with a bunch of armed US Marines standing there.
The much more realistic scenario would be him pulling up to the checkpoint, identifying themselves as Americans, and saying 'watch my daughter, I have to rescue my wife who's been kidnapped by criminals"

I didn't understand this part either, crashing into the embassy. They could have just told them the situation at the gate. Maybe I missed something.

Forget that. US ambassador just lets him walk out by himself to save his wife. 'yeah, we don't really care about your wife. you can go by yourself.' Seriously?

The thing with them letting him go after the whole BATTLE RAM RAY scene at the embassy is not soooo over the top ( compared to the others ) but I still he should have spend a bit of time explaining everything to the embassy officials which should have taken at least a few hours, but the day in the movie doesn't seem to ever end, as we can see the sun set down when he's going back to the villans' HQ. And of course, the fact that ISTANBUL does NOT have an embassy ( but an Consulate as the embassy is in Ankara ) - has been already addressed tons of times here. But I think I am more bothered by the fact that the taxi car looks NEW after the most impossible crashes.

As I said, this movie is not only bad written and WORSE made but it's mostly INSULTING. And I thought STOLEN was bad...

Let's be honest now, there are barely 2-3 movies each year which you can say that they rock. Good thing TV-Shows kick ass lately as I probably would have quit watching tv/movies.

Sure, why not? If they said that he was a ex-CIA operative and needed to take care of some business, I am sure that they will eventually let him go.

How fast would depend on how high his connections went. Apparently, it went pretty high...

It's a custom built taxi built from Russian tanks.

No its a German Merc.
Not made of tinfoil.

Crashing the gate was the quickest way to draw the armed men to the scene. Stopping at the entrance would've meant answering questions and following protocol. He basically skipped all that and created a scene the villains didn't want to be near.

It was a silly scene. Escaping a .50 caliber machine gun like that was crazy. At the very least, the engine would have been destroyed right there and then.

They could have just pulled up and identified themselves, and Bryan could have called his golfing friend.

reply

Those marines would have opened fire and kept shooting till the entire car was riddled with bullets.

You're right, it didn't because there is no US Embassy in Istanbul to begin with !
