Scariest Shark Movie?

Nope.

I didn't hate it but relies on a lot of clichés. Some was better than most shark movies but some was sheer idiocy.

Worth watching but don't expect anything great.

reply

Hadn't heard of it. I'll catch it at some point.

reply

Way better than it has any right to be. Ridiculous premise taken to ridiculous conclusion but done well enough and taken seriously enough that it is quite entertaining. Of course I like Deep Blue Sea as well, so you might see my recommendation in that light.

I just wish I’d been at the pitch…where the pitch man says, “ Jaws…..but in Paris”.

And the studio said…just take our money now.

reply

I imagine many a shark movie was made after a pitch along those lines.

It's Jaws... but... (something, something).

reply

It's Jaws... but... with extremely bad weather!

reply

It's perfectly...fine...for a Netflix release. It kind of reminds me of that monster movie 'TROLL' they did a couple years ago. It kills a couple hours but is not all that memorable.

reply

I didn’t find it scary. It has the odd jumpy bit but honestly it was the stupidity that ruined this movie for me. The bratty shark lover who was willing to let people die thinking she could save the shark. She thought turning off the beacon and getting those cops killed would actually help her cause it just annoyed me so much. Great idea but it falls flat due to that for me.

reply

Yeah, everything in this movie reminds you of other movies. Almost like it was deliberately copied. If you put your brain in sleep-mode, it's barely decent enough.

reply

Another typical "suspend disbelief" movie.

reply

Yea I just started watching this and when the lady gets drug under the ocean water by a shark at an unbelievable speed and depth and she somehow didn't implode, get the bends or even run out of breath (even though she was screaming on the way down) I'd say suspending disbelief is 100% needed.

reply

Okay, watchable movie. Some good scenes.

Better than most of the shark crap thrown at us for years.

But like most lazy horror films, it relied on stupid people doing stupid things in order to happen.
