What next?
Are they going to reboot Barney Miller with a Black guy, a Puerto Rican, two Jews and a Polish guy?

FEEL BETTER NOW?
shareYes. Barney Miller was obviously way ahead of its time.
So was Night Court. But not enough. So while it had women and people of color, the only thing lacking was to tear down Judge Harold T. Stone and replace him with a woman. Ah, perfect! π€¦πΌββοΈ
Except they'll have to change the basic premise of the show -- the idea that Judge Stone's methods were mistaken for insane, but really were just unorthodox and tried to achieve justice instead of adhering to the letter of the law. Make a woman act crazy or immature and it won't be PC. Or woke. Or whatever. So they'll have to cut the guts out of the show in order to change Judge Stone's gender. Typical of Hollywood to miss the point.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explain it so that even Hollywood could understand it. Yes, I feel MUCH better.
UH-OH! YOU WOKE UP THE KOWALKSI! WE THOUGHT HE/SHE/IT HAD GONE INTO HIBERNATION FOR THE WINTER!
shareBut their not replacing Harry T Stone with anyone. The woman plays his daughter.
shareEven worse.
I meant replacing the type of character. Or are they going to think the "insanity" is genetic? Doubtful, since they're going to have John Larroquette in his former role. He's seen it all before and knows there's a method to the madness.
The True Grit remake was actually better than the original, so who knows? But while not many celebrity deaths get to me, I was genuinely sorry to hear that Harry Anderson had passed away. I don't want to see a Night Court with anyone else.
One cannot argue matters of taste.
