Is it better than Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter?
I found that movie to be entertaining but just barely, and could have better. I was wondering how this one is, in comparison to get a sense of what to expect.

shareYES
ABLV was boring and awful
This movie is aleast watchable
You're nuts. Abraham Lincoln had 10X more action than this snoozefest. A fight in the middle of a moving herd of horses, the slave house fight, the battle on the train? There's a reason Abe Lincoln will make more money than this bomb
People's Choice Awards Action Star 2015: CHRIS HEMSWORTH, for carrying AOU as THE MIGHTY THOR :D!!
A hour movie watching paint dry would be be than "AL:VH"!
"Time is the fire in which we burn."
WAY better than Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter! That was a waste of time, this was just fun!
Cum simioli e culo meo volent.
I love them both.
This one is just a TINY bit better, tho.
This is only better because the framework storyline from one of the greatest books of all time is there. In fact at times I felt annoyed that the zombie stuff was getting in the way of THAT story since so much of it was still there.
"The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister."
I enjoyed ALVH more than this. This movie was good too, but some scenes felt forced.
shareI liked "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" better. I liked how that one was character-centered around Lincoln, while having more action, and a history backdrop that I was more familiar with where vampire fiction was woven into. Also with vampires, more can be done with them. In ALVH, there were two stand-out vampires that had developed characters.
With "Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies", there seemed to be less action, and the plot with the guys courting the ladies seemed to muddle the urgency of dealing with the zombies. Also, these zombies were more like vampires, hiding among the living while looking normal and speaking intelligently until feeding time - like vampires. While I said that vampires are generally more entertaining, if I'm watching a zombie movie, I want the zombies to be like zombies - the kind on "The Walking Dead". It would have been much more interesting to see members of the posh 18th century class in PP&Z subjected to a "Walking Dead" scenario in a PP&Z context. There would be a freak virus killing humans and then turning them into zombies. At first it would be many lower class commoners. Then after writing it off as a commoner problem, many members of the upper class would have become zombies too, both from being attacked by the commoners, and from catching the virus. But PP&Z was not exactly that. It wasn't bad, but it could have been better.
Yes it's better.
All for a box of chocolates...
