I have nothing against Temuera Morrison. He seems like an ok guy.

But one of the reasons the show is not doing that well is because of his limited acting skills.

He is a decent actor for supporting roles. But he is not talented or charismatic enough to carry a series by himself. In short, he is boring and there is little that he offers for the role.

If you look at his film and series career, he’s never really excelled. He played Jango Fett and some clones in the prequels and then fell into obscurity.

I was surprised to see him in Aquaman. But, again, it was just a supporting role and nothing to brag about.

The truth is we didn’t need this series and we should focus on other characters.

Go and check out Once Were Warriors, a powerful, gripping and disturbing NZ movie made about 25 years ago. He gives a powerhouse perrformance in that movie.

The writers gave him shit to do here. It's rather unwatchable. I turned it off after 20 minutes, then forced myself to watch three episodes but it's just absolute crap. They can stick the vespa gang in the slave one and fly off back into the Sarlacc pit.

I agree that the problem is the script.

As I said elsewhere, I think the central problem with the series is that we have no reason to want Fett to become top dog of the Tattooine underworld. We haven't been given any reason to believe that the people of Tattooine would be better off with him in charge than they would be with the Hutts or some other scumbag, and it's not like being capo di tutti capo of Tattooine is a prize we'd want ourselves, so there's no sense of identifying with a hero who is on a worthy quest. I mean, if he wants to stop bounty hunting snf settle down, why doesn't he find a place where a person would want to live, or where they could at least live in peace?

Yeah, I looked it up. A movie few people care about.

If he was that good, his career would’ve taken off after the prequels. He’s a good side character.

Dude, actually WATCH the film.

I became a fan after seeing him in that. That movie is HIGHLY disturbing, very violent, and Morrison comes off as an absolute powerhouse badass.

Also, check him out in Tracker playing opposite of Ray Winstone, another fantastic film.

I haven't seen Boba Fett the show (despite him being one of my favorite characters), but Morrison has proven to have acting chops when given something to work with.

Then whatever he had, he hasn’t impressed the people that can give him better roles.

He hasn’t had a lead role in decades. And if you watch Boba Fett, you might see what I mean.

The problem is the entire show is relentlessly slow in every respect. The walking, the talking, the action, the music, the story unfolding. Every facet of production just plods along. It never gets going.

He was fantastic in The Mandalorian. Boba Fett was a fucking beast in that show.

He was because he works well in a supporting role.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Temuera Morrison. He's not showy and underplays everything. Something you perhaps aren't used to.

I am pretty used to it. Morrison is simple not delivering that subtle performance well.

I said the same thing elsewhere and no one agreed with me :(

But the critic for Rolling Stone also mentioned in one of his recaps his limited acting skills. So we're not alone :)

People who know about acting and don't get sentimental about actors or characters can see it.

To be fair it's come out that Morrison has questioned his directors about how Fett talks and acts - he would prefer that he says less and that they maintain the mystery around him ... but he was overruled.

That’s a good point. Many directors seem to forget the importance of listening to actors.

His New Zealand accent has always been a turn off for me. It is jarring in a Star Wars franchise. Nothing against the actor himself or New Zealanders.
