Season Finale (potential spoilers)

Well that was a let-down. So many totally unresolved plot threads.

I can't see any way that Ahsoka and Sabine are ever getting back to the primary galaxy absent somehow summoning the star whales again and WTH are they doing hanging out with the snail creatures anyway? And the cryptic final one-shots with Shin and Baylon??? Lots of episode-bloating chase/fight scenes the time for which would have been better spent resolving some of these others hanging threads.

Well that was a let-down.

Agreed.

Bit of a shame really. For the most part the season had bobbed along between really good and passable episodes but the finale must be one of the worst.

I don't really know what happened - The previous episode Thawn was talking about the acceptable losses of the Stormtroopers sent out with Baylan & co, as it meant they were now free to jump to lightspeed.

But then in this episode they just re-set and it was the same again! What was the point of the Stormtroopers stopping them the week before?!!

Also, not sure but probably to do with Ray Stevenson's death, but it really weird how Baylan Skoll was pretty much absent from the entire episode after being such a driving character previously. I guess they had more as it was building up to something bigger for him but they stripped it back as much as possible given his death.

Whole show was a mess. Finale especially since it contradicted everything established in the previous episode. They basically made this show just to introduce a bunch of new characters and concepts for future Star Wars projects. I don't think Ahsoka and company are going back to the main galaxy. They seem intent on building a whole new Star Wars 2.0 in this new one.

I thought it was good finale, I kind of expected very little to be resolved going into the episode (it would have seemed very rushed if so) and I liked where things left off with Ezra getting home but Thrawn ultimately getting back to the main galaxy.

I think the writing throughout the series could have been a bit better but it’s Shakespeare when compared to the awful storytelling we got in the sequel trilogy.

Definitely no way Ahsoka and Sabine are stranded permanently, they’ll surely be in Filoni’s film along with Din and Grogu.

Why shouldn't there be plot threads to be picked up by the next series or movie?

reply

I just don’t get the whole “we need to move on”.

They are not going to try to get back to their galaxy? They are just going stay there and build new lives? All that panic over Thrawn and they are relaxed about it?

reply

Right. They're all just: "oh well guess we'll just go camping with the snails"
