Why didn't they fake arrest him at the **Spoiler**
Why didn't they fake arrest Robert and his fake fiance at the fake wedding? so that word wouldn't spread that they were the ones who set them up.

shareI thought the same thing. These guys are ruthless. You would think their safety would be forever at risk in jail or not. This is based on a true story, so guess no payback. I find that hard to swallow, but guess so...
So many things about this movie are way off. Is this how *beep* goes down in real life? Sad...
shareTotally agree. It's the kind of move (of which there were several) that dropped the film from a great film, to merely a good one.

Totally agree. Revealing who they really were could have gotten all of them killed. I'm surprised as hell they are all still alive. These cartels are no joke and they have loooooong memories. They like to settle their accounts so to speak.
shareYou're all IDIOTS. They didn't arrest them because they were witnesses and undercover and had to testify anyway so the jig was gonna be up anyway. Don't watch these kind of movies if you need a grown up to spell things out for you.
shareCorky, if that's the case why (in the opening scene of the movie) did they fake arrest him coming out of the bowling alley?
At that point he was with, by all accounts, an incredibly small time drug criminal compared to the likes of the Medellin cartel at the wedding.
It's some of these things
1) You're wrong
2) It was done for dramatic effect
3) They just made an arse of the continuity in the film.
I doubt it was 3).
It's probably a bit of 2) and a whole LOAD of 1)
Which grown up should have watched the film to explain it to you?
it was none of those things, idiot
shareLol, try watching it again and you'll understand.
The text at the end of the film very much proves Corky's take on it was wrong.
I think Corky is right.
The difference between the arrests at the end and the one at the start was that at the end the mission was over , and they had all the big fish they needed on the hook.
At the start they had one little fish and needed to maintain cover to keep the mission going.
No point in a fake arrest at the end because , like corky said , They'd be meeting in court soon anyway

what did the text at the end say?
He continued his work as an undercover agent.
The very fact he could do that meant that it didn't matter either way. I reckon it was done for a bit of dramatic effect in the film as much as anything.

Yeah and according to what is stated in the end of the movie, Mazur even "continued his work as an undercover agent" despite all these drug lords, apparently up to and including Escobar, knew he was a cop. Obviously, he would have worked within some different organization, but the risk would still have been much too great as word about something like this tends to get around. Don't get that.
