I never really cared for the LoTR movies. I read each book right before each film and the movies seemed more juvenile in comparison. One example is I thought The Voice of Saruman was the best chapter in The Two Towers and they had the prominent Christopher Lee playing the part yet they seemed to take all his clever dialogue out where he is convincingly talking his way out of his situation and instead just shows him basically exasperated and resigning himself to his predicament.

The third movie was great, unfortunately a very small yet vocal minority of haters were too bitter to accept that the movie was great and didn’t need the Joker.

LOTR isn't a trilogy and it's very mediocre. It doesn't respect the novel and there are way too many things that just don't make any sense. Peter Jackson also starts subplots that were fully developed in the novel yet he half asses them so at the end of the day we are left with a million plot holes.

The Dark Knight Rises on the other hand is one of the greatest conclusions to any story. If you think The Dark Knight is better I'm not going to tell you you're wrong but they are on very even levels. It was by far the most emotional conclusion I have ever seen.

You need to calm down, your hatred towards a superhero movie is beyond obsessive and quite frankly not healthy.

You appealed to popularity in your second paragraph which is a logical fallacy.

You then completely contradict yourself in the 3rd paragraph when you conveniently ignore popularity and pretend that the vast majority doesn’t prefer TDKR to Batman Begins. By all objective measurements TDKR is better than Batman Begins. There is no standard that says it “sucks”.

I do not even have an issue with him liking the movie. Everyone is entitled to their view. What is dumb though is if you dislike it he will insult you and claim you do not get it. I personally can criticize movies that I even love. You do not have to be blind to something's faults simply because you enjoy it. I enjoy lots of elements of TDKR. I do think there are superior Batman movies though. I found TDK as well as the Batman to be better films.

LOTR is a arguably the best trilogy. I think the advantage it had was the story was all laid out before making it. When you look at other trilogies they make up the story after each installment to try and tie it together. Can it be done? Yes it is just hard to do it so consistently. That is why they could shoot LOTR back to back like that.

I think TDK is the definitive best among the Nolan Batman movies. There are a few things I do think TDKR did better than Batman Begins. For one I think Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle is a much better character than Rachael Dawes. I do not hate Rachael Dawes I just always found that character a little lacking. Bane is the more recognizable villain and theatrical than Ras Al Ghul. Even though Ras Al Ghul was terrific. However the pacing of TDKR is too long where as BB feels tight.

Fight scenes were better shot in TDKR also. Unfortunately the choreography of the fight scenes in the Nolan films is the achilles heel of the series. His choreography always leaved a bit to be desired. In BB it is really choppily edited. TDKR feels like two movies smashed into one to me. A little too much exposition as well. Overall I thought it was good but flawed for sure.

Yeah I am like dude come on. Like the movie but quit being an idiot. Someone can understand a film and still not enjoy it. You can turn that right around on him. Okay the only reason you dislike LOTR is because you don't understand it.

HAHAHA, it has over an 8.0 on IMDB, it is the 69th greatest film of all time, it has over an 85 on RT and MC and it made over a billion dollars.

LOTR is just one film chopped up into 3 pieces, I could get my movie maker out and do that to any film I wanted to. The 3 pieces of worthless without the other two and don't tell a complete story. That's not the case with TDK trilogy.

Look, son I am not just a LOTR hater, in fact you might call me a LOTR fanatic, the novel is one of my favorite novels of all time, but even you have to admit that the film has a TON of problems that the novel didn't.

I agree it's technically better and I prefer it, but I understand preference is important and lots of people don't like films like LotR, so I'm sure that's where you'll find most of the disagreement comes from. It's not for everyone, so there's no real point in debating it, and they're two vastly different trilogies, genre aside. Both are good though, so it's nice that both exist.
