Luis Guzman was so awful in this

I found myself cringing every time he had a line. For one thing, you could tell that he doesn't actually know the words his character is using, but also every line came off as though he can't act worth sh*t.

Having actually seen his performance in this now, I don't understand why he was cast.

Yup. He was a mega miscast and is the main reason I will probably not continue. He seems totally clueless of his role. Even worse - I think he just forgot how to act. But to be fair - he's never really been outstanding in anything he's done. Just an odd choice.

The intended Gomez was not a portly "ugly" dopey fella. He was a little quirky, but very dashing and debonair. It was his Spanish charisma that landed him his beautiful wife. Luis has neither. He's just a fat puerto rican.

Have you noticed, btw? All their kisses with Morticia were just sounds, we were never shown an actual kiss.

I would guess it was in Catherine ZJ's contract not to.

Eh, he was tolerable but Gomez is a non-entity in this version. Thankfully the character is just a minor reoccurring role in THIS incarnation of The Addams Family.

If you want to see a truly AWFUL, badly MISCAST Gomez Addams, I suggest googling "Nathan Lane as Gomez Addams"

Completely agree.

Yes he’s just awful. I feel bad for Catherine Zeta Jones having to do romantic scenes with him.
