The gay part ruined the movie

shareI actually found Brand and Baldwin to be the most believable couple (aside from Cruise and Ackerman). Plus it's a musical, everyone's meant to be overtaken by the songs and fall in love. I thought it was a well done pisstake of that cliche.

Not only are they some of the few actors in the movie (the lead couple is awful) but it was a perfect take on the everyone-falls-in-love musicals from the 50s/60s I remember being forced to sit through because my sister watched them when I was a kid.
They didn't even go cheap, and filmed flashbacks that were not in other parts of the movie to further establish their relationship.
