The gay part ruined the movie
Terrible, terrbile!!!!
shareI thought it was hilarious!
honey badger don't care.
Agreed -- it came out of nowhere and seemed really contrived. Oh let's have these two guys fall in love for some cheap laughs.
Baldwin was miscast in this role.
I hated that part too. Like the previou sposter said, it came out of no where. It was also way too corny.
shareWell, you saw a little bit of sexual tension during the "I Love Rock N Roll" scene lol. So it wasn't completely out of nowhere. I don't know I found it amusing but to each his own.

It was hinted at a couple of times in the first part of the movie .
......
I'd like a chance t' shoot at an educated man once in my life .
The scene was needed as a contrast to the corny seriousness of the rest of the cast (not including Cruise).
shareit was totally unnecessary and came out of nowhere, regardless if it was part of the original or not. It was insulting, demeaning and stereotypical. Meant for a non gay audience to go teehee look at the funny F...ggots.
shareYeah, it's always the same homosexual punchlines over and over again. It's been that way since the '60s. Comedy writers need new material.
I thought it was hilarious, completely over the top. And very silly, adding to the ridiculous and very fun spectacle this movie was meant to be (and succeeded in being).
shareIt did look rather odd even though it had been sign posted. Anyhow rather apt for film adapted from musical theater!
Its that man again!!

Oh boo hoo. Lighten up, Francis.
shareYour a bigot and an idiot. It did not.
shareI think this movie was ruined long before the gay part, but that was handled very poorly.
share Russell Brand already kind of looks like an attractive woman, thin and soft (plus that hair) So it kind of made sense.
But it did came out of nowhere. They didn't even seem that close to me. They didn't seem like friends or anything like that, just like two guys that work together. Definitely didn't feel any love in there.
