Contender for Worst Movie of 2013

After seeing the trailer which encapsulates all mayor action sequences, I believe this has got the potential of being the worst picture of the year. The dialogue looks like it has been written by a 9-year old, the cgi looks awful and Keanu should start doing movies with Nicolas Cage. I mean bad-acting wise, those two are just unbeatable. And how the hell did they manage to piss away 175 million dollars on this? At least the director should feel like the luckiest man on the planet, being somebody with no feature film experience getting a budget like that. Bombs away !

As the old adage goes, you can't polish a turd. But you can sprinkle plenty of CGI and countless close-ups of Keanu Reeves looking morose onto it.

The only thing that's bombed is your first comment. Hopefully you keep making yourself like a real ass by trying to insult people with really dumb comments that will bomb. Bombs away.

well, this movie want to use the American-style to talk a totally Japanese history story. The problem is, the director want to make both American and Japanese feel good, unfortunately, he makes both of them bored.
As an American story, the hero should not died so easily. As an Japanese story, the hero should not have a relationship between the lord's daughter, cause this is a story about loyalty.

Maybe but the winner is going to be that dull oldboy remake...

I agree. I walked out after the last fight, can't even remember the last time I walked out before the credits

reply

I disagree. I loved it.

I wouldn't say "worst movie", it may contend for biggest letdown though. I was expecting a beautiful thriller, yet the only thing beautiful about it were the women it cast. It let down on all levels. It would have been much better if they mad it a trilogy. In which case they could have expanded upon (Reeves) past, and the magical tribe he grew up with. I would have also liked to have seen the 47 samurai face a army of the tribe, like they made it seem the villain had.

We do not sow, we pay the iron price.

That is what you get with most modern films. Disappointment and resentment. Classic films are called classic for a reason. Spiderman 2 and wall e are 2 exceptions and both are great.

It has been 6 months since I started this thread, and I was called a douche, a troll, a miserable human being and what not. Well, it seems I wasn't too far off with my comment. Crappy film, 11% on Rotten Tomatoes making it one of the worst big budget films of 2013 and as no surprise a terrible box-office. The fact is, some people have the gift/experience to spot good movies from just a short trailer, others don't. :)

reply

No, the only gift you have is being a piece of trash. Have a problem with that I don't care it's the truth. :)

If you saw the Mortal Instruments you wouldn't say that. Mortal instruments hands down is the worst movie of 2013. It was so terrible it was painful to watch.

reply

Shoot, yeah, MI was terribly bad, and an insult to teenagers everywhere.
