SO, who else actually loved this?
Anyone at all? Don't tell me this is another one where I'm the only one who likes it.

shareI liked it a lot too! What's up with the 14% Rotten Tomatoes rating??? I guess critics feel like they have a duty to pan certain movies no matter what.
Within the parameters of what this movie was trying to be, it was very successful. It was a fairy tale blended with a classic tale of revenge. Lots of cool scenery, steady pacing, and fun combat scenes. B+
I loved it as well.
shareI thought it was excellent, especially because I came into it not giving a darn about whether it was historically accurate. I wanted a rousing adventure/fantasy story and that's EXACTLY what I got. It's like Legend of the Five Rings made into a movie, and there is nothing wrong with that.
shareI also came into this movie not knowing anything about it, other that what the trailer had to offer. I think not really knowing the history of the story helped in enjoying it more.

I thought it was okay. The ending certainly helped the film a LOT - without it, the movie would have been very cheesy! Also, very nice photography. And Ko Shibasaki is extremely beautiful - this is the first time I saw her in anything.
shareOh I loved it, quite a bit. It had it's problems, but honestly, it's so rare to see a Japanese Fantasy film, and I thought it was a nice blend of history and mythology, it very fun!
shareBasically since the movie made NO money means NOBODY went to see it. So yea, you are in a very small minority.
