Alcohol in watermelon?
I was wondering if this is done for real. I’ve never seen or hear anybody do that before. Can you really pour alcohol into a watermelon like that and then eat it? Amusing scene.

shareErrol Flynn had a drinking problem and was banned from drinking on set. So he started injecting vodka into oranges and ate that under their noses.
shareThat's sad. Flynn was a lunatic.
By the way, when exactly was it that they started putting ads INSIDE the goddam comment fields? Very annoying.
Flynn has 1 of the best if not the best autobiographies out there btw called My Wicked Wicked Ways. If you can believe it, his life was far more interesting and exciting before he became an actor. He was like the anti Indiana Jones.
Yeah I accidentally click those ads, annoying for sure.
My Dad used to love Errol Flynn for his swashbuckling movies of his that he saw when he was a kid, but I've never been very impressed with his movies or acting.
I loved Ronald Colman though, who looked a lot like Flynn and was in much better movies and a much better, even classic actor.
This is a good one, if a bit, or more than bit fuzzy, "The Devil To Pay" ( 1930 )

As a swashbuckler, I actually prefer Stewart Granger. I think Flynn is charismatic on screen and can portray a good nuanced performance. But I agree, I never really was impressed by him on screen, I did a Flynn marathon recently because I was on a Granger binge and commented that I preferred him over Flynn. So someone recommended I give Flynn a chance and read his autobiography. I think his real life is more interesting than his films tbh. However I wonder if his wickedness is hyped up or if he really is as sociopathic as he wants to be seen.
I've only seen a few Colman films, but I prefer Granger's The Prisoner of Zenda than his. Granger was very athletic and did his own stunts which I appreciate. He is also a more intense actor and like his sarcasm on film.
Thank you, I always give actors a shot, so I will check this, but I want to look for a better copy.
It's an old B&W movie, but if you have Amazon Prime or care to rent it, it is here:

I caught this at our local classic cinema that only plays classic old movies, the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto, CA built in 1925. So many great movies and in original form, some of the silent ones have an organist performing the music. There are so many really good older movies that I find I'd rather watch than the same of sicko garbage they make today.
Granger and Colman are of two different generations. Colman born in 1891 and Granger in 1913. Colman started making movies around the time Granger was born.
If I recall I enjoyed Granger in "King Solomon's Mines".
My aunt sometimes does it at her family parties. Something for the adults.
shareWe called it a wop when you let fruit soak overnight in alcohol
It was okay but, I never had the patience to make it myself
I don't think you could just stick a full bottle upside down into a hole in the watermelon like the guy did in this movie
