Much better than Iron Man 2 (but not as good as Iron Man 1) , RD Jr did a fantastic job, as usual. The action sequences were spectacular as was the plot (I personally liked the twist with Mandarin, but then again I never read the comic books. I was pleasantly surprised, great film, much more intriguing than Captain America.

I'll slightly revise from one of the best action movies ever to one of the best in the marvel cinematic universe, certainly much better than the Avengers and ten times better than Captain America.

Well, Avengers gave this film the opportunity to move beyond what has come before and it appears there was a lot of hard work and thought that went in to making it because it’s exceptional in every way. And, we are all lucky to get to see it. Iron Man 3 is exactly where and how the character should appear after the events of Avengers. I love the idea that after the Avengers Tony basically goes a bit crazy with paranoia and builds MANY new suits of armor just to be ready for anything. This really speaks to his mindset and where he is going from this point forth. It’s true character development and advancement. Sometimes it’s not all for the better but that’s life and that’s certainly what sets Marvel heroes apart from all others. The flaws and feet of clay are on display but the emotion and relatbilty are off the charts in this film. I can say the same thing about the action. There were some thrilling things that happened in the first two Iron Man films but NOTHING like we see in this movie. It’s certainly on a par with Avengers. Iron Man 3 is the best solo film Marvel has made and that’s high praise indeed.
I just asked my girlfriend what was the best film she saw all summer. Answer: Iron Man 3.

shareI think the rest of summer has proven that the OP was right on the money. It's not so easy to make a great film no matter the budget. Look at how much the studios spent with After Earth and Man of Steel and others yet all of them combined aren't as good as Iron Man 3.

Isn't it funny how Marvel has what is probably the best five action movies of the entire new century to date? I think that factor is causing a bit of an angry backlash for the non-Marvel side of the fence.

All CGI crazy does not good action make. It is an intense movie. Who cares if there wasn't wire-fu or CGI suns exploding?
This is classified as an action/adventure movie. It's a great movie that delivers an exceptional story. As such, it has to be considered one of the best ever by classification.
