I value and appreciate the imbd top 250 very much. For the most part I agree with most the movies on the list, maybe not the particular order but most the movies in this list deserve to be there, and most of the movies that I think should be in there are 7.7.-7.9 which is reassuring to know that some other movies I love are that close to being there. Warrior is NOT one of these movies. It is an average movie, not bad but not amazing. This movie is a 6.8-7.5 range which is a GOOD movie. There is nothing wrong with that score a lot of great movies have scores like this, but TOP 250?????? HOW?????? Maybe I was just expecting something much better because of the rating but I don't know I was disappointed. Rocky is a very similar movie and Rocky is in every way more superior. I can't believe this movie is higher rated than Rocky. IT'S ROCKY!!!! Probably the greatest sports/underdog movie ever made. The script, the acting, the emotion, the characters in Rocky is almost perfect. I really hope this movie slides more and more down the top 250 until it is gone. I'm not trying to be a dick and bash this movie but the top 250 is sacred to film buffs, it's a great guideline for us to find new movies to watch and compare and discuss which movie is better. Warrior should never be in a conversation of this caliber. Warrior right now is close to movies like Platoon, Trainspotting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Into the Wild on the top 250 and all of these murder Warrior in every aspect of filmaking. I hate to be a dick to loyal fans of this movie but I can't help it. If someone came up to me and told me Warrior is better than Platoon I would not trust their judgment on movies really. I don't even think this movie deserves a fair judgement for me to discuss WHY I DID NOT ENJOY THE MOVIE! It's an okay film but a pure joke for the top 250.

You must not take IMDb's top 250 list so much to heart, it's just a list. Recent movies also tend to start very high and gradually go down in rating.

That being said, I do believe Warrior deserves to be ranked that high. It's a beautiful tale about two brothers and it touched me very deeply.

My silent outrage with the top 250 would be The Dark Knight at number 6? Really?And Inception at number 15? Geeze!

Just because it affected you deeply does not mean it is a good film. It's not a beautiful, tale its a generic cliche one.

I do agree with you on the dark night and inception, both rubbish movies, style over substance, that are 7/10 at best if i was generous. But style over substance is all you need to trick the sheep these days.

Yeh defs not top 250, this film is fun and really likeable, but even more cliched than 'the fighter'

Agree in most. I really disappointed with seeing this average movie in Top250 list. There are dozens of far better movies. I can't understand what is wrong with all of these people. IMDB dishonors its reputability with such weirdness'.

I'm from Philly bro. Rocky is the best sports related movie ever made? It's not one of the best boxing related movies ever made. Raging Bull and Cinderella Man alone knock it out of the park. I said that and I'm from Philly. Philly. You don't live in Philly and not watch Rocky when it comes on.

I wouldn't even put it in a Top 25 best sports movies ever. C'mon man.

Everything people are whining about in here is full of Rocky. Montage, cliche, etc.

Get over yourselves.

I'll bank out to Kubrick all day long when it comes to the best films ever made. I want some serious landscape design, I'm finding H.R. Giger worked films. Everyone is screaming about Ryan Gosling for years and I've been raving over the kid since I caught The Believer in a dive cinema in NYC back in '01, a movie I put a straight 9/10 on.

Don't like Warrior? Stop coming here to write about it so much. The distances are ridiculous. North Hills High School being portrayed as a Philly high school is laughable. Montages, cliches, yep.

Oh well. People still love it.

Tom Hardy was ridiculous in it. Ri-dic-u-lous. Nolte was Nolte. Would have liked to see more.

You're dealing with a film that A LOT of people LOVE. You're not going to convince people otherwise and the "I wouldn't trust the opinion of anyone who likes it" is just funny.

Not going to debate Warrior vs. Rocky, 'cause I think they're both great movies. But there are biases. People will go with Rocky simply because it came first. It's a great underdog story, but the dialogue is atrocious. Rocky Balboa is an oaf. But still, Rocky has heart, a compelling story, and some great fights. Warrior has a ton of fighting, emotion, and heart. The scene in the hotel room where Nolte's character breaks down and Tommy witnesses it/consoles him is heartbreaking. Film is subjective. I personally relate to this dynamic between the father and son, so I resonates with me more. Warrior is also an underdog story, it's about family, overcoming odds, facing the past, etc. Lots of great themes there. I know I said I wouldn't compare Rocky and Warrior, but I guess I did anyways lol oh well.

To those discrediting the movie because it's not true to MMA:
Who cares if that doesn't happen in MMA, that it was unrealistic in terms of training and MMA fighting. It's a movie. Get over yourself. You could make a comment like this about literally any movie made, that something isn't credible or realistic. Name a movie, I'll pick something that could be construed as unrealistic or implausible.

Warrior is an amazing movie. It should have been nominated for Best Picture of 2011, if not more awards. It's an instant classic. I loved The Fighter, too, but Warrior is far superior. Wahlberg and Bale are great, but the movie lacks the depth that Warrior has. Lots of quotable lines, but the only real emotional part is when Dickie watches the TV program in prison. Again, I love The Fighter, I own the movie, but Warrior is a better film.

Its a good film but it dont belong in the top 250.. bad edited and the camera work could have been better.

Why can't people just appreciate good effort? This movie had fantastic performances, great filmmaking, gripping choreography, a great soundtrack and some very emotional moments. Especially with the Nolte character.
It doesn't matter if it's a cliché if it's done well. This movie does it very well and that's why people like it.
