SPOILER ALERT!!!!! Why do they need to have sex?

Its just something that seems forced and stupid. It might be a good comercial (still stupid) strategy to atract people to the movie but it doent really shows anything so... and the best part of all is the beginning of the scene, where the camera starts with Emily scratching her legs really sexy just wanting, thinking about the looper in the farm, and then she just cant take it anymore and calls the macho guy who obviously cant say no to a booty call. They even finished with the post-cigarrette lol, I guess they can be really proud, they used all the possible clichés available for that scene.

Did the sex scene add anything to the story?

...

Nope. It was totally unnecessary and didn't make sense. This woman is under a lot of stress with this kid with very dangerous powers, a guy who wants to kill her kid and mobsters who want to kill the kid who's protecting her kid, and somehow she gets horny??? Bullsh*t. It didn't make any sense.

Oh, and we're talking about the sex with Sarah, not the hooker, you imbeciles.

@Hammer_Smashed_Face

Hey, it was a stress reliever---under the circumstances, that was understandable---it took the edge off, so to speak. Bottom line, women like to get off sometimes just like men do---just in different ways.

She was feeling frisky and there was a handsome (if a slightly deformed-looking Joseph Gordon-Levitt is your thing) young man nearby, so she decided that a shag would be marginally more pleasurable than a wank.

That's literally all there was to it.

The sex scene was pointless.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.

reply

It was actually a nice change of pace seeing a woman craving for sex and not the guy chasing her.

As a set up for Looper 2.

Cid winds up with younger sibling then?

I thought the same thing it was a random sex scene

SPOILER ALERT

At first -jokingly- I played the incestuous card, then I firmly believe the script placed there to clearly established there's no frakking chance Joe is Cid

And I don't think it's gratuitous, young woman always in the verge of nervous breakdowns, lots of stress, feeling lonely, needing of human (adult male) touch.

Also I applauded when it fades to black quickly, not padding it.

nd then she just cant take it anymore and calls the macho guy who obviously cant say no to a booty call.

I'd hardly call Joe a "macho guy". Maybe you're loading the scene too much with your own issues?
