Why doesn't eric kill kevin bacon first chance after his mom died

Ok , explain this to me, is kevin bacon invulnerable to sharp metal objects?
kevin bacon orders the nazi's to kill eric's mother, at that second, why doesn't eric kill kevin bacon?

* Note I do understand Kevin Bacon is immortal and love the oracle of bacon.

Jews don't harm pigs, bacon comes from pigs. This was Eric's struggle, his kampf if you will, for most of the movie - whether or not he could harm Kevin Bacon.

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.

Funny stuff!

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

I had this question as well, but after seeing it again, I feel that Eric can't control his powers yet; emotions are what trigger his powers at this point, but he can't "aim" them. I think killing those guards was just a happy accident.

It would have ruined the movie regardless of the outcome.

Lets say somehow he killed Shaw. No villain, no movie.

But the more likely scenario is that he would try and fail. That would reveal Shaw was a mutant and take away a plot twist. And we don't know what effect it would have on Magneto's character development.

At any rate, this is one of those times where we need to accept that the answer is plot related

Because the movie would have ended with Charles and magneto having a picnic

"Pass the salt, Charles?"

"Get it your f$~#ing self, it's in a metal shaker!"

You don't know sh!t, Jon Snow!

There are some extremely funny posts in this thread.

Anyway he didn't kill Kevin Bacon, I mean Shaw, in that office because its obvious he had only rudimentary, basic control over his powers at that period. If Kevin Bacon was wearing a metal helmet or had a pacemaker, sure, kill him. *beep* Kevin Bacon, mutant freak.

reply

You are spot on.

I'm not sure if someone has already said this or not but I'm sure if Eric did kill them he would have been killed. He was just a kid, he wouldn't have the instincts of a survivor like Magneto gained when he was older.

"So much for being a survivor" -Magneto, Days of Future Past.

Only people with money say that money doesn't matter.

reply

Because there wouldn't be a movie involving Shaw's WWIII plot

That awkward moment when you think someone's signature is apart of the post.

It makes no sense for Erik not to go after Shaw.

Erik, in a fit of rage, directs his burgeoning metal powers at everything EXCEPT anything that might hurt Shaw? He doesn't run to his mother. He doesn't charge after Shaw.

Only plot reasons keeps him from even attempting anything against Shaw.
