I wish there was some actual, real science involved.

Fun and watchable movie.
I prefered the original that actually felt like some real science was happening.

Is this even a real premise?

reply

i aint no science dude....
but the whole suck a bunch of chemicals into the tornado to stop it and help people sure seemed like some major bullshit to me

reply

Agreed. It was a whole "I'm sorry, what?" reaction from me.

reply

It was BS. The tornado would have just blown it back out and kept on going.

reply

seeing the sharks in the tornado was also dumb

reply

Was their really a Sharnado in this movie? I turned this POS off halfway through the movie.

reply

No Michael Crichton in this one means no science.

reply

my goodness! I forgot that the late and great Michael Crichton was involved in the original. This was as usual a far lesser copycat drawing from much more talented filmakers.

Did you know Michael Crichton wrote and directed the incredible movie WestWorld in the early 70s! This had AI, a Terminator like robot chase and so much more. He was so amazing and visionary.

reply

"Westworld" is SO great! Needs to be seen.

reply

I absolutely loved that movie. Starring Thanos' daddy.

reply

If you enjoyed Westworld (1973) I also recommend it's sequel Futureworld (1976). Peter Fonda and Yul Brenner both returned for the sequel.

reply

I don't know about fun, the entire time i was watching it. I wish i was watching the original. The whole movie lost me when they went down the whole "What if Youtubers Chased Storms and where Rednecks" angle. At least Cary Elwes Character was also into it for the science. Even if he was a douche.

reply

You can get it with the original film.

reply

Then watch the weather channel.

Or Nat Geo.

reply

Wouldn't be as fun.

reply

there's a lot of science dialogue, what are you talking about?

reply

There is???? So you can disperse a tornado for real like that?

reply

I don't know. I'm not a weather nerd.

reply

Well that is obvious...you should also understand that the movie is more enjoyable if it is grounded in something real. I was disappointed this movie was essentially like Sharknado...ridiculous fantasy.

If you care to watch the original Twister. This was not so fanciful, the tension was all about trying to get the sensors in the twister itself.

It was infinitely more enjoyable because Michael Crichton - Jurassic Park and Westworld and many others was involved. This mindless sequel, like so many others Hollywood is churning out is lacking the soul, substance and talent of superior predecessors.

reply

I just heard a lot of mumbo jumbo delivered convincingly so I bought it as true science.
