Will Oscar Voters Even Consider Voting for Will Smith? “We Have to Allow People to Grow,” “No Chance,” “F*** Him”

I think it is too soon for most Academy members and they will refuse to even consider him, no matter how good he is or how good the film ends up being.
shareSo, you read the article, right? What do you think?
shareI suspect all the idiots that gave him a standing ovation after the assault that are part of the academy will vote for him.
shareI guess Will figures if he plays a runaway slave, critics will have no choice but to give him universal acclaim. And he's probably right.
shareIt smacks of desperation, almost embarrassingly so, and an obvious PR move.
shareI seriously doubt he'll be nominated anymore for anything, and I doubt if he even cares. To be fair, he did apologize for hitting Chris Rock, and admitted that he was out of line---and what he did was really stupid as hell. I will say this----playing a role like this is definitely something he normally hasn't done, and that alone makes me want to see it. The film has already been held up because of what he did, and that's why it's won't be released until December.
shareI don't think he's eligible. In addition to be being suspended., the article says he resigned from the Academy. In order to be nominated you have to be a member in good standing.
That's why R. Lee Emery didn't get nominated for Full Metal jacket. He never became a member. It's also why he wasn't in the Memorial the year he died.
