Deadpool did it so much better

I’d avoided seeing Kick-Ass because it has an immature title and was based on
a second-tier comic book. I hated Scott Pilgrim versus Good Taste, and thought this was the same.

I just watched both Kick-Ass movies. I was wrong.

Much of the genius of this series is that the real STAR is Hit Girl. She is the sword hidden in the smile, as the Samurai say. Yeah, stuff like this is aimed at dweebs, nerds, geeks who read comic books—but those guys will get their first erections over a KILLER BITCH who carves through bad assholes like ultrasound through an eyeball. And I’ve had ultrasound through both of my eyes.

Compare this to Deadpool?! I watched Deadpool when it debuted; also, Deadpool 2. If you’re a kid, a punk, or both, you think Ryan Reynolds is cool. Adults think otherwise. I’m an adult. So, advantage Kick-Ass, even though the titular actor is MUCH less impressive than, say, Tobey Maguire in Spider-man. He DID bulk
up impressively for the end of KA 2.

Both KA have better writing, better editing, better cinematography than both of the Deadpool, and they are not cursed with
the heritage of what Stan Lee thought was humor. I’m unconvinced that the words “what Stan Lee(bowicz) thought” really belong together.

KA 1 and 2 are small movies with small budgets that I admire because, among other things, they demonstrate the veracity of the R_Kane adage, “Absent money, substitute inspiration.” Both Deadpool movies pissed money all over the place, delivered NO character who
even began to rival Hit Girl in charisma and gravitas. It’s ridiculous to compare their respect sequels. Did ANY of you not cringe after Deadpool 2, and say anything BUT, “Well, yeah, but . . .”?

Kick-Ass (really Hit Girl): Yes

Deadpool: Not so much

Deadpool is absolute wank.
