(spoilers) Was that 'stunt' by Bruce during car crash scene POSSIBLE?

Can someone actually (literally) WALK OUT of a spinning car with such ease like what Bruce did?

reply

I hear alot of talk here, but the only way you'll find out for sure is if you actually tried. These guys are just predicting.

Who knows what will happen, give it a go, experiment!

reply

Jack Bauer never did it so no I'm afraid it's not possible.

i saw an earlier version of this shot somewhere and it was clearly a composited shot [the colours/lighting/edges werent matched/cleaned up yet].

the reality is that as someone posted earlier, a combination of his position exiting the car, centrifugal forces, yadda yadda means that this is not possible, and certainly not the way bruce did, still a stable firing platform.

just not possible, but it makes a great movie scene, and in this kind of film, that counts.

reply

yes, bruce willis can do anything

reply

Could it be that the car left Bruce, rather than Bruce leave the car.
I saw it so it must be true.

reply

I would like to make a further conjecture: If the car left Bruce, it would make sense. All he would have to do is plant his feet firmly on the ground and let the car slide out from under him.
I mean come on, if Bruce can blow up an asteroid, take down an entire mafia family, and kill a helicopter with a car, this has to be a piece of cake for him.

reply

totally agree... he can do everything

reply

No it cant but it looked fu*king sick didn't it?

reply

anyone can do it its just near impossible

reply

Call the Mythbusters!

reply

I say it's time to call in the Mythbuster

At least it would be entertaining to watch them hopelessly trying it and call it "Busted"

reply

only bruce willis can do that

reply

that stunt was...just awesome

Take it easy dude

And it does not require perfect timing either. you just crack the door open. When the door opens on its own (due to whatever combination of momentum from deceleration and centripetal acceleration balance out to open the door) you just follow the door out. If, on the other hand the door for some reason flies open, you don't follow it out as you will end up rolling on the pavement. If you have any intention of leaving through the door and not the window in a scenario like this, you would pre-open the door anyway. Just like you pre-open the door on a small aircraft before an unplanned landing. For someone like Frank, this would be second nature I think.
