Karl Urban or Brad Pitt

The way Karl holds his gun, the way he strokes his tie, the way he drinks his coffee, the way he delivers his lines, and even the hair. All the nuances of every part of his performance looks like he studied at the Acting School Of Brad Pitt. Anyone agree?

The voice and some mannerisms are what got me. I've seen a lot of his films but in this one, I kept thinking of Brad.

Me neither. I've read that some people think Karl looks like a rugged version of Leo DiCaprio. I don't see that either.
Nothing about Karl's performance or looks remind me of Brad Pitt.

Not on Your Life! Brad Pitt?? He wishes!

Karl is very close to mimicking Deforest Kelly with the same intensity, but with modernity and international flair. He has an action career as long as he keeps making smart choices and aligning himself with the likes of Bruce Willis. Today's action heroes are manicured and pedicured almost to impotence. Soft asses.

I love me some Karl Urban.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Absolutely. You can tell there's a lot of similarity, and the funny part is that in Star Trek he had the same attitude, voice, and mannerisms as DeForrest Kelley brought to his role as Bones. I was very impressed with his performance in both films, but I definitely caught his Brad Pitt impression several times throughout Red. I'm uncertain as to whether or not this was intentional, but it was fairly easy to notice during several of his scenes.

Yeah, as long as this guy's been on my radar I've thought of him as being Brad Pitt only different. I like them both and think they both have plenty of unique qualities, but they could play brothers if they wanted to.

There wasn't a single thing about his performance that reminded me of Brad Pitt. Could you maybe give a reference to a specific movie or character of Pitt's that you think he was imitating?

The only thing I walked away from this movie thinking (in regards to Karl Urban) was that he was as hot as ever and that he'd make a great Jack Ryan. Pity that TPTB hired Chris Pine for the role (IIRC).

The only resemblance was the hair, he kinda reminded me of Liev Schriever in Salt, I was thinking throughout the whole movie that he would be the bad guy. But he fit right in to the great cast.

Possibly Spy Game or Seven...

BTW: Urban plays the leading role in Dredd (2012), just in case anybody didn't know it yet. ^^

Just because someone reminds you of someone it doesnt mean they're mimicking them! This thread irritates me on so many levels!

My body is broken

I take it you're asking who is hotter...Brad Pitt or Karl Urban. I think Karl Urban is definitely hotter! Pitt is overrated. Yeah, Pitt is hot, but he also has a rather puffy looking face and his appearance is too conventional for my liking. His flippant personality really turns me off. On the other hand, Urban is a refreshing change from the typical Hollywood heartthrobs. I love his dark, ethnic features. He has a cool, smart personality and he doesn't seem cocky. He doesn't remind me of Pitt at all. He is his own person.

I saw him at our mall the other day (seen him a few times) and I can say he's definitely as hot in the flesh and fecking tall!

I am so jealous. Isn't he filming Loft at the moment?

Yeah his mannerism and voice tone definitely were like Brad Pitt. It was unmistakeable throughout the early scenes when he was talking with his family.
