Hawaiians playing race card for this movie makes no sense. If anything...

I went into this movie with a preconceived notion that it was so blatantly racist to the point of black face. I guess I can thank our lovely liberal media for that idea. This movie is pretty damn PC, and I think it went out of its way to show local culture even though it is about a love story on a US military base. The main story line is about a billionaire working with US military to put a satellite into outer space. Are all the military personnel and space contractors supposed to be Hawaiian?? WTF is wrong with you idiots? Frankly the whole Hawaiian separatist movement\group story line was not needed at all and very typical lefty Hollywood. If anything there were probably too many locals in this movie since 90% of it was on a military base and in the middle of the ocean.

Now this whole drama about the 1/4th Hawaiian Emma Stone argument is pretty funny too. Cameron Crowe claims he based his decision on choosing Emma because he knew a red headed Hawaiian in real life that looked white. Is that too hard to fathom? I'm a white man who is married to a beautiful El Salvadorian woman, and we have a gorgeous daughter who happens to look white. That is 1/2, and she looks white. It is kind of sad and funny that when my wife takes our daughter to the park mid week the nannies ask her how long has she been watching our daughter for? Even if Emma stone is just claiming she is 1/4th Hawaiian but really isn't, that is also a realistic character. That would make the casting of Emma even better. The script kind of hints at the deception with her always making sure she tells everyone that she is part Hawaiian. There are plenty of white people on the mainland that claim they are part Native American all the time, but you wonder.

So in closing, STFU and try to enjoy the movie instead of making a note of every Hawaiian that you think should have been on the silver screen... "Silver" wait, that is Ageist!

Uttering the words "playing the race card" is essentially signposting your racism.

Well done, it saves us all reading through your nonsense.

So a film set in HAWAII entitled ALOHA is too PC for including local culture into the plot? Oh god, the anger coming from this thread is seeping with suppressed White guilt. lol

Every young person knows that the overuse of the term 'liberal media" is a red flag for angry old White guy who watches Fox News.

I really want to see/ meet this redheaded Hawaiian woman that Crowe talks about.

Instead go watch SVDelos on youtube and look at the kid they had together. No one has to validate themselves for you stupid racists. However look at the kid. Doesn't look like the dad at all, looks like the Swedish mother. Swedish genes are very dominant.

Yep.

It wasn't PC or blackface at all. It even had a Hawaiian guy in it who would normally have been extremely difficult to partake in it. Seriously I wish you politically correct people would stfu.
